Putra Graduate On Time (GOT), an offshoot of the Putra Sarjana Programme, is initiated by the School of Graduate Studies (SGS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Its purpose is to create awareness among students and academics the importance of graduating within an achievable time period. The programme also aims to support postgraduate students’ research activities through a systematic learning programme.
GOT for Masters students is within 4 semesters of study, and 7 or 8 semesters for PhD students. Thus, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) through its School of Graduate Studies (SGS) invites students to attend the following seminar:
Speaker 1: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ng Siew Imm
Speaker 2: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Jo Ann
Seminar: Research Methodology (Quantitative)
Date: 3 April 2018
Time: 10.00 am - 12.00 pm
Venue: Auditorium Radin Umar, Faculty of Engineering, UPM
Seminar Focus
Postgraduate candidates and early-stage researchers are often challenged with deciding on which methodology to apply in a given research project. Questions such as, “What is mixed methodology?â€, “How do I use a mixed methodology in my research?†or “What types of data collection methods are most suitable for my research?†are some of the questions commonly asked by candidates. And even after determining the methodology, then comes the issue with how to apply it. It remains crucial for postgraduate students to have a firm grasp of research methodology. In this 2-hour session, Dr. Ng Siew Imm and Dr. Ho Jo Ann will present research design foundations, types of data collection methods, quantitative and qualitative data handling.
Details of participation fee for this seminar are as follows:
1. Free for UPM academicians and students
2. For Non-UPM students: RM53.00
3. For Non-UPM staff / professionals: RM106.00.
