Dear students, Universiti Putra Malaysia through its School of Graduate Studies would like to invite you to join the following seminar: Speaker: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shamala Paramasivam Seminar: Research Ethics for Social Science Research Date: 28 November 2019 (Thursday) Time: 2.30 pm - 4.30 pm Venue: Putra Sarjana Room, Ground Floor, School of Graduate Studies, UPM Seminar focus In this seminar students will learn about ethics and ethical conduct in social science research. The seminar will comprise historical development of research ethics in the social sciences, the need for research ethics involving human subjects, responsibility of researchers, informed consent, UPM Research Rules and the role of the Ethics Committee for Research involving Human Subjects in UPM. This seminar is essential for PG students in order to understand about the application for ethical approval of their PG research projects. Details of participation fee to this seminar are as follows: 1. Free for UPM academicians and students. 2. For Putra Business School students, a fee of RM30.00 is a charge 3. For Non-UPM students, the fee is RM50.00 4. For Non-UPM staff/professionals, the fee is RM100.00. *Payment can be made at the registration counter on the day of the event.
