Emergency Procedures During a Fire

SGS Building Evacuation Briefing was held on 6th December 2021 by Ms. Nadjla Ahmad Razei via Zoom involving all staff.

The purpose of the briefing was to introduce the Occupational Safety and Health Committee (JKKP) & SPS Emergency Response Team Committee (JKERT) and as an alternative to actual (physical) building evacuation training in the event of any emergency at work and provide exposure to staff on methods/plans building evacuation in the event of any emergency at work. This briefing was also held to provide exposure to staff on the method/plan of evacuation of the building in the event of any emergency at work.

Here are the emergency procedures during a fire.

If you hear a fire alarm, please follow the instructions below:

  • Stop doing any work immediately;
  • Switch off and unplug all nearby electrical sources;
  • Evacuate the occupied area/room;
  • If you are at the upper floor, move to the nearest staircase and go downstairs;
  • Find the nearest safe exit and exit the building.
  • Proceed to the designated assembly point.

 

During the emergency, please:

  • Do not panic, run or push others while leaving the building.
  • Do not return to collect belongings.
  • Do not hide in any area of the building.

 

The briefing started at 2pm and ended at 3pm.
