AGRICULTURAL EXTENSION

The field covers the meaning and objectives of agricultural extension; role of extension workers; history and organisation of extension services; extension methods and techniques; extension process; meaning of rural sociology, rural leadership pattern and community organization; principles and philosophy of extension communication; extension teaching process and adult learning; principles, steps and model of programme planning and evaluation; concept, theories, principles and guidelines of extension administration; statistics and research methods in extension; agricultural journalism; and contemporary issues in extension and rural development. Students will be exposed to the skills, techniques, and practical experience in this area. Knowledge and experience that will be gained are required for students who are interested in developing careers in agricultural extension.
