HUMAN GENETICS

Human genetics is a field that offers scientific study and research on the biology, genetics and medicine that are specifically involved in human hereditary aspects. In the medical field, genetics plays an increasingly important role in the prediction, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases. Research in this area emphasises the involvement of the nature and behaviour of particular genes in genetic and hereditary diseases. By using the latest methods in cell research, biochemistry, molecular biology and gene technology, research in this area also seeks to identify ways of inheritance, factors that influence the existence of genetic diseases, and how they differ between individuals, such as mutation screening and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs).
