VISA AND PASS

HOW TO APPLY VISA APPROVAL LETTER (VAL)?

 

STEP 1: Print offer letter from Postgraduate Application Portal: http://sgsportal.upm.edu.my:8080/sgsportal/

 

STEP 2: Prepare documents as required by Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS): https://visa.educationmalaysia.gov.my/guidelines.html

#VAL application through EMGS is applicable only for those who are offered at Faculty/School/Institute located at UPM Serdang Offer Letter.                

#Candidates/new students who are obtaining an admission offer at UPM Bintulu Campus, please contact Mr. Fauzi bin Mohamad (fauzie@upm.edu.my) for assistance in relation to visa matters.

List of Faculty/Institute at UPM Bintulu Campus:
1) Faculty of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences
2) Faculty of Humanities, Management, and Science
3) Institute of Ecosystem Science Borneo

 

STEP 3: Create an account with EMGS at https://visa.educationmalaysia.gov.my/customer/account/login/

 

STEP 4: Log in to the EMGS system and fill in the required information.

 

STEP 5: Upload documents are required by EMGS into the system.

  1. A valid offer letter and deferment letter (if any)
  2. Academic record (Certificate and academic transcripts)
  3. Photo
  4. Passport Data Page
  5. Health Declaration

 

STEP 6: Select your insurance company. You are recommended to choose ‘’own group’’ for those who do not have any insurance yet.

 

STEP 7: Select the payment method and prepare to make payment for EMGS through PayPal/credit card/online banking.

STEP 8: Complete your VAL application.

#Candidates/new students must send all documents in softcopy to i-PUTRA through email at visapass_val@upm.edu.my

STEP 9: View application status through the EMGS system from time to time.

#The VAL process may take 30 – 60 days from the submission date. You can contact the Visa and Pass Section for follow-up or further inquiries pertaining to the visa application.

#Disclaimer: The School of Graduate Studies and i-PUTRA shall not be liable for the approval of student e-VAL.

#Approval is subject to the authority of the Immigration Department.

#Candidates/new students are able to check the application progression through EMGS Apps or the website visa.educationmalaysia.gov.my/emgs/application/searchForm
