Board member of Pak Rashid Foundation (YPR), Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Arshad, speaking at the YPR Public Lecture,  said educators should enhance the quality of their students by showing  their own interest  and follow this up with continuous motivation.

“Based on my past experience transforming the Institute of Technology Mara, even students with minumum entry qualifications can be transformed into excellent graduates who will do the university proud,”  he said.

The public lecture, to expose educators to ways and means of teaching their students to achieve the national goal was organized by the Pak Rashid Foundation and UPM Alumni Centre in honor of the late Dr. Mohd Rashid for his contributions to the development of the Agriculture College and Universiti Putra Malaysia.

Also present at the lecture were Deputy Vice Chancellor of Industry and Community Network, Prof. Dr. Tai Shzee Yew, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, Prof. Datuk Dr. Mohd Fauzi Ramlan, 338 UPM Alumni, representatives of external organizations, and UPM staff.

Tan Sri Arshad said lecturers must provide students with current knowledge, and more knowledge in their areas of expertise, and actively respond to the students so that universities can achieve excellence.

Besides, he also encouraged universities to create an industrial network for healthy competition.
