13th December 2022, Serdang - In its effort to widen the initiatives in terms of postgraduates welfare management, the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) has joined hands with Centre for Management of Waqf, Zakat and Endowment (WAZAN) to offer the Tuition Fees Aid for Excellent Postgraduates (BYSC). This financial support is focused for underprivileged postgraduates who are in need and have fulfilled the basic requirements. The total of RM 78,930.00 portrays the continuous effort of both departments in ensuring the welfare of UPM postgraduates.

The cheque handover symbolic event was conducted on the 13th December 2022 in BM1, SGS, in the presence of the management officers from both SGS and WAZAN. The Dean of the School of Graduate Studies, Prof.Dr.Zalilah Mohd Shariff has expressed her heartfelt gratitude for WAZAN’s generosity to step in and contribute towards this effort. The Unit Leader of Zakat Management and Asnaf Development, Mr. Mohd Haris Dahlan, has positively apprehended the idea of SGS-WAZAN teamwork in providing such thoughtful assistance for the students.

It is hoped that such collaboration can be extended in the future in order to achieve a mutual objective.
