KUALA LUMPUR-Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Lecturer from the Faculty of Forestry, Prof. Dr. Paridah Md. Tahir was recently accorded the Anugerah StAr Awards 2015 under the Standard Category award.

She walked away with RM5,000 cash prize, a plaque and a certificate which were presented by Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Madius Tangau.

Prof. Dr. Paridah who is also the Director of UPM’s Tropical and Forest Products Institute (INTROP) is known for her expertise in adhesives and coating wood/composite board.

Meanwhile, Datuk Seri PanglimaMadiusexpressed hope that the recognition awarded to her will become a source of inspiration and motivate other individuals to continue participating actively in standardization and accreditation activities.

Organized by the Department of Standard Malaysia, the event was the second time held after the rebranding of the Standard and Accreditation Award ceremony which commenced in 2014. – UPM.
