SGS LAUNCHES INAUGURAL SUCCESS STORIES COLLECTION
UPM’s School of Graduate Studies (SGS) is pleased to announce the publication of its inaugural collection of alumni success stories, entitled Stories for Inspiration. The collection, the first of a planned yearly publication series, spotlights the achievements of UPM’s local and international alumni.
According to Professor Dr. Bujang Bin Kim Huat, the Dean of SGS, the purpose of the collection is to show that UPM recognizes each and every one of its alumni as a mark of the university’s achievement. “We take pride in the success stories of our alumni,” he added.
The inaugural volume consists of personal stories of nine successful alumni selected among those who have achieved outstanding research work, or hold outstanding professional and leadership positions after graduation.
“Postgraduate study can be a lonely and daunting road to take,” said Associate Professor Dr. Noritah Omar, Deputy Dean of SGS, and one of the editors of the collection. “We believe the collection will inspire and motivate current students, and give them a glimpse of what others before them have achieved,” she explained further.
With this collection, SGS hopes that the campus community will enjoy reading about others’ successes, and that faculties and institutes will continue to support this effort by nominating their alumni for future volumes of the series.Click here to download the inaugural volume.
