SGS Receives Visitors from Universitas Muhammadiyah Tangerang, Indonesia
UPM Serdang, 25 April 2016. The School of Graduate Studies received visitors from Universitas Muhammadiyah Tangerang, today. The Indonesian delegates comprised of the Rector of the university, Dr. H. Achmad Badawi, accompanied by five senior staff members, 16 lecturers and 26 Masters students.
Present to welcome them were the dean of SGS, Prof. Dr. Bujang Kim Huat, and deputy deans Prof. Dr. Nor Aini Ab. Shukor and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tang Sai Hong. This was the first visit made by UMT to UPM. After a warm welcome and a short introduction, the delegates were shown a video presentation about SGS and UPM. The meeting discussed potential collaboration between the two universities, particularly in research, the dual/joint degree programme, and student/staff exchange. The visit also sparked interest among students from UMT to do their PhD at UPM.
The meeting ended with an agreement to establish an MoU to further strengthen the academic network between the two universities. The delegates left SGS after a photo session to continue their visit of UPM at the UPM Library.
