The School of Graduate Studies, after more than 20 years since its establishment in 1993, maintains its key role as the service centre for all matters related to graduate studies. The school is a community of academic and support staff who are passionate about continually building on our strengths to help create an environment that is conducive to the overall postgraduate experience.
With more than 11,000 postgraduate students currently studying at UPM’s 16 faculties and 11 institutes, we have become one of the leading graduate schools in the country. The school has grown considerably since its beginning as a Graduate School Office, and is supporting 265 fields of study under our Masters and PhD programmes.
Our international status can be seen in the number of international students who chose UPM as their preferred university for postgraduate education and research. That we currently attract students from more than 80 countries around the world also attests to our success in making UPM a university of international standing, in line with the university’s vision.
Our biggest achievements are in the increased postgraduate student population, and in the improved quality of research projects that are conducted at UPM. The key to our success lies in our relentless efforts towards excellence in academic training and research, both for our students and our academics.
I believe that it is in our commitment to excellence, and investment in continuous pursuits of knowledge and research, that UPM can truly make a substantial contribution to nation building and technological advancements, to serve not only the nation, but also the world.
