The philosophy of mathematics encompasses studies on views and conceptions from various schools of thoughts on the nature of mathematics as well as the development of the philosophy of mathematics. The main theme for this branch of research is to study the history of mathematics with respect to the philosophical ideas embedded within certain selected topics in logic, number theory, algebra, trigonometry, geometry and astronomy.
