Preliminary Acceptance Letter Application Guideline

1. Before submitting your application, please ensure that you have met the eligibility criteria as listed below:

  • Holds a nationality of a developing country (other than Malaysia);
  • Must not hold any visa for temporary or permanent residency in Malaysia or any developed country;
  • Holds a PhD degree in the field of the natural sciences;
  • Applies for the fellowship within four (4) years of having obtained a PhD degree in a field of the natural sciences;
  • Is regularly employed in a developing country (other than Malaysia) and holds a research assignment there.

 

2. Please contact relevant faculty/institute at UPM to identify your potential host supervisor. To obtain list of faculties/institutes at UPM, please visit UPM’s website at http://www.upm.edu.my. Normally the following documents are required before your request for host supervisor can be considered:

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Research Proposal
  • A copy of PhD certificate

 

3. Request for a written confirmation from your potential host supervisor that he/she has agreed to host your appointment.

 

4. Submit your application documents by emailing to School of Graduate Studies (Mr. Saiful – saiful@upm.edu.my). List of the required documents are stated as below:

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Research proposal
  • A copy of PhD certificate and transcript
  • TWAS Fellowship Application Form
  • Written confirmation from potential host supervisor

 

Please note:

  1. Only completed application will be processed.
  2. Each application is still subjected to be approved by the faculty/institute. The preliminary acceptance letter will only be issued after the approval is obtained from the faculty/institute.
