Benchmarking Visit by Delegates from Dr Sushant Patil Group Pune, Dr D. Y. Patil Varale Campus and Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Women’s Engineering, India, to SGS UPM

Serdang, October 31st, 2025 — The School of Graduate Studies, Universiti Putra Malaysia, received a benchmarking visit from an academic delegation representing Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Engineering Management and Research and Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Women’s College of Engineering, India. Held at Meeting Room 1 of the School of Graduate Studies and commencing at 9:00 a.m., the visit aimed to strengthen international academic networking and facilitate the exchange of best practices in graduate studies management and research development.

The delegation was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Rusmawati Said, Deputy Dean (Thesis and Student Development), and Cik Pavithra Panir Selvam, Assistant Registrar of the Student Relations Unit, School of Graduate Studies, UPM. The programme began with a presentation introducing UPM as a research university committed to academic excellence, high-impact research capabilities, and the internationalisation of higher education.

 

 

The presentation provided a comprehensive overview of UPM’s graduate studies structure, research supervision processes, international student support systems, and student development initiatives. The session created opportunities for bilateral discussions on potential academic collaboration, student and researcher mobility, and institutional partnership development at the global level.

Throughout the interaction, both parties exchanged views on current challenges in graduate studies management, strategies to enhance graduate employability, and initiatives to strengthen research quality through strategic collaboration. The discussions were conducted in a cordial and professional atmosphere, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing higher education and impactful research.

The programme concluded at 11:00 a.m. with a photography session and the presentation of commemorative tokens as a gesture of appreciation and a symbol of strengthened institutional ties. The visit reflects the School of Graduate Studies’ ongoing commitment to expanding international networks and advancing academic excellence through strategic global collaboration.
