May 8th, 2026 – The School of Graduate Studies (SGS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), welcomed an EKSA (Public Sector Conducive Ecosystem) benchmarking visit from the Admissions Division and Academic Governance Division (BAKD), as well as Putra Agriculture Centre (PPP), on 8 May 2026. The visit, which commenced at 9.30 a.m., aimed to facilitate the sharing of best practices, experiences, and approaches in implementing EKSA towards creating a more systematic, organised, and conducive workplace environment.

To ensure the smooth flow of the programme, the delegation was divided into two groups. The first group comprised representatives from the Admissions Division and Academic Governance Division (BAKD), led by Mr. Firdaus Zakaria, Head of the Admissions Division, BAKD, UPM. The group was hosted at Meeting Room 1, SGS, where a presentation and sharing session on SGS’s EKSA implementation was delivered by Puan Norhasliza Hassan, Deputy Registrar of SGS.

Meanwhile, the second group consisting of representatives from Putra Agriculture Centre (PPP) was hosted at the Putra Sarjana Learning Space. The presentation and sharing session for this group was delivered by Ms. Nur Nadjla, Senior Assistant Registrar of SGS. The session highlighted SGS’s approaches in managing workplace spaces, implementing EKSA activities, encouraging staff participation, and carrying out continuous improvement initiatives to ensure a high-quality working environment.

Following the presentation and sharing sessions, the participants were brought on a tour around the SGS building to observe the EKSA implementation across various workspaces and common areas. The visit provided participants with an opportunity to gain first-hand insights into the office layout, document management practices, cleanliness and safety aspects, as well as creative elements incorporated by SGS staff.

Overall, the EKSA benchmarking visit provided valuable opportunities for both parties to exchange knowledge and experiences related to workplace management and quality improvement practices. It is hoped that such collaborative initiatives will continue to strengthen networking and knowledge sharing among UPM Responsibility Centres, while fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement across the university.
