January 7th, 2025, SERDANG – The School of Graduate Studies (SPS), through its Putra Sarjana Learning Support Programme, successfully organized a seminar titled From Manuscript to Masterpiece – UPM at the Foreprint of Publishing. The session was delivered in person by Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohamed Thariq Haji Hameed Sultan, Director of UPM Press, and held at the Putra Sarjana Room, SPS. The two-hour seminar is part of the Putra Sarjana Seminar Series, which aims to provide postgraduate students at UPM with essential knowledge, tips, and skills. The encouraging participation from both local and international students reflected the relevance and importance of the topic.

The seminar focused on the journey of academic writing—from the initial stages of a manuscript to becoming a quality, publishable scholarly work. Participants were exposed to best practices in academic publishing, effective manuscript preparation, and the peer-review process. By highlighting UPM’s proactive role in the academic publishing landscape, the seminar aimed to empower researchers and postgraduate students to produce publications that meet international standards.
To keep the session engaging and energetic, various interactive elements were incorporated, including quizzes, Q&A sessions, and physical activities. The speaker's expertise in mental health further piqued participants’ interest, especially as he is frequently invited to share his knowledge at various international symposiums, workshops, and seminars.
