
Serdang, December 23rd, 2025 — Universiti Putra Malaysia, through its School of Graduate Studies, organised a Putra Sarjana Seminar titled “Strengthening Extension Systems & Technology Transfer: Professional Strategies for Agencies, Industry and Communities” for postgraduate students on Tuesday, 23 December 2025. The seminar was held from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at Thinker Space 2.0, Faculty of Engineering UPM. The session featured Prof. Dr. Norsida Man, Deputy Director of the University Community Transformation Centre (UCTC), as the invited speaker. The seminar aimed to enhance postgraduate students’ understanding of effective extension systems and the strategic transfer of technology from academic institutions to external stakeholders, including government agencies, industry players, and local communities.

In her presentation, Prof. Dr. Norsida emphasised the importance of bridging research outputs with real-world applications to ensure that knowledge generated within universities delivers tangible societal impact. She highlighted professional strategies that support the dissemination of innovation, the development of collaborative partnerships, and the strengthening of knowledge exchange mechanisms between academia and external stakeholders. Participants were exposed to practical approaches in managing extension programmes, fostering stakeholder engagement, and enhancing the sustainability of technology transfer initiatives. The seminar also provided insights into how postgraduate research can be aligned with national development priorities, community needs, and industry demands. Through real-life case studies and examples, attendees gained a clearer understanding of how research-driven innovation can be translated into impactful solutions that benefit society.
The interactive session encouraged active participation, allowing postgraduate students to engage directly with the speaker through discussions and knowledge-sharing exchanges.
