SGS First-Level Evaluation of the Public Sector Conducive Ecosystem (EKSA) for Workplace Environment Award (HKIP)

3 June 2025 – The School of Graduate Studies (SPS) officially underwent the First-Level Evaluation of the Public Sector Conducive Ecosystem (EKSA) today under the Workplace Environment Award category of the Quality and Service Innovation Day (HKIP) for the 2025/2026 session. The evaluation session, which commenced promptly at 10.00 a.m., marked an important benchmark for SPS in measuring its level of compliance and excellence in workspace management in line with university-established standards. The HKIP evaluation panel was warmly welcomed by the senior management team and the department’s EKSA committee, all of whom were well prepared for the session.

The comprehensive audit process was conducted by two experienced auditors, namely Puan Che Zailawati Abdul Ghani from the Faculty of Agriculture and Puan Nadiah Kamaruddin from the Faculty of Educational Studies. The evaluation began at Meeting Room 1 with a welcoming address by the Deputy Registrar of SPS, Puan Norhasliza Hassan. In her remarks, she emphasised that EKSA practices at SPS have evolved beyond mere workspace organisation into a work culture that prioritises productivity and staff well-being. This was followed by a documentation presentation by the SPS EKSA Coordinator, highlighting space innovations and green initiatives that have been implemented over the past few years.

Throughout the evaluation session, the panel was taken on a tour of various units and zones within the SPS building. This visit provided the evaluators with the opportunity to observe firsthand the quality of the working environment practiced, ranging from the customer service counter and open office areas to meeting rooms, as well as storage and file archive areas. EKSA documentation and compliance records were also examined to ensure that all activities carried out were supported by valid and verifiable evidence of implementation.

The first-level evaluation concluded around noon with a brief summary session by the evaluation panel. All feedback and recommendations provided will be used as guidance to further strengthen SPS’s preparations for the subsequent evaluation stages. With a strong spirit of teamwork, the SPS community remains optimistic about sustaining excellence in EKSA practices and, in turn, enhancing the department’s reputation in this year’s HKIP competition.
