SGS Hosts EKSA Benchmarking Visit from the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Community Relations)

May 14th, 2025 – The School of Graduate Studies (SGS) recently hosted a benchmarking visit from the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Community Relations), focusing on the implementation of the Public Sector Conducive Ecosystem (EKSA).

The visit, which began at 3.00 pm, saw a delegation of 10 representatives from the Office of the DVC (Industry and Community Relations) arriving at the SGS premises. This engagement serves as a strategic platform for both departments to exchange ideas and align their workplace management standards with UPM’s goal of fostering a high-performance corporate culture. The session was chaired by the Deputy Registrar of SGS, Mrs. Norhasliza Hassan, supported by the SGS EKSA Facilitator, Ms. Nur Nadiah Abd Rahim. Held at Meeting Room 1 (BM 1), the program opened with a comprehensive presentation detailing the current EKSA practices at SGS, highlighting how a conducive workspace contributes to administrative efficiency and staff well-being.

Following the briefing, the delegates were given an extensive tour of the SGS building. This walkthrough allowed the visitors to witness the practical application of EKSA principles, from systematic filing systems to creative workspace optimizations. The interactive nature of the tour enabled the delegation to ask specific questions regarding the challenges and successes of sustaining such an ecosystem. The visit concluded at 4.30 pm after a constructive feedback session where representatives from the Office of the DVC (Industry and Community Relations) shared their observations. These insights are expected to play a vital role in the continuous improvement of EKSA standards for both departments.

The event ended on a high note with a photography session, marking another successful collaboration in UPM’s pursuit of organizational and environmental excellence.
