January 2025 14th - 15th, Serdang – The Experimental Theatre at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Arts and Cultural Centre (PKKSSAAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) witnessed an evening of musical brilliance as Muhammad Irfan Ibrahim, a staff member from the School of Graduate Studies (SPS), emerged as the solo category champion at the Grand Finale of Senada Putra 16: "Suara Putraku".
His powerful and emotionally captivating performance mesmerized both the audience and the judges, earning him the top spot in a highly competitive lineup. Muhammad Irfan's achievement is a moment of pride not only for SPS but also for UPM, showcasing the incredible artistic talent and dedication of the university's staff members beyond their professional roles.


Senada Putra is an annual flagship programme organized by UPM, aimed at nurturing artistic expression and cultural appreciation among staff members across various faculties and departments. The 16th edition, themed “Suara Putraku” (My Putra Voice), focused on the power of voice as a means of expression, emotional release, and unity. It also highlighted the importance of work-life balance and mental well-being by providing staff with a creative outlet through music and performance.
The grand finale featured a prestigious panel of renowned judges from Malaysia’s entertainment and music industry, adding prestige and excitement to the event. Among them were Dato’ Ramli MS, Datuk Mokhzani Ismail, and Sarah Ismail on the first day, followed by Mr. Mohd Yazid Zakaria and Rojer Kajol on the second day. Their professional insights and critical evaluations added depth to the competition and provided valuable feedback to the participants.
