May 20th, 2024, Monday – The Internal Audit for the Information Security Management System (ISMS) MS ISO/IEC 27001:2013 for the year 2024 began at 9:00 AM in Meeting Room 1 at the School of Graduate Studies. The session was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nitty Hirawaty Kamarulzaman, Deputy Dean (Admissions, Institutional Relations, and Financial Aid), Ms. Norhasliza Hassan, Deputy Registrar of SPS, Mr. Saiful Bahrie Abdul Manap, the Chief Auditor from the Center for Academic Leadership Development and Excellence (CADe-Lead), along with representatives from the Bursar's Office, University Health Center, and i-PUTRA.

The Information Security Management System is based on the ISMS ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standard. Compliance with the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standard assures stakeholders and customers that relevant information is protected and safe from damage, loss, or misuse.

In line with this, UPM implements ISMS to ensure the continuity of information security management by minimizing the impact of ICT incidents so that information is always preserved, quickly accessible, and its security controlled. The implementation of ISMS also facilitates the sharing of information in accordance with the operational needs of the entities involved at UPM. This can only be achieved by ensuring that all ICT assets within the scope of ISMS are protected.

The ISMS audit spanned two days, involving all SGS officers, staff from the admissions unit, and all other staff indirectly.
