August 30th - September 1st, 2024 - The School of Graduate Studies (SGS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), recently hosted a workshop at the Tenera Hotel, Bangi, Selangor, from August 30 to September 1, 2024 which focused on developing guidelines for the Monitoring, Review, and Evaluation of Postgraduate Micro-Credentials related to Food Security and Climate Change. This workshop was a key component of Work Package 4 of the Postgraduate Micro-Credentials for Food Security and Climate Change (PMC FSCC) Project, which is a collaborative initiative coordinated under the University Consortium.

The workshop assembled a diverse group of experts on micro-credentials from UPM, with contributions from the Faculty of Educational Studies (FPP), the Centre for Academic Development and Leadership Excellence (CADe-Lead), and the Faculty of Agriculture (FP). Additionally, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, a beneficiary partner from Malaysia, had also contributed their expertise across various departments.
The three-day workshop served as a platform for in-depth discussions aimed at creating comprehensive guidelines to enhance the effectiveness of monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating the micro-credentials courses, thus fulfilling the first deliverable of Work Package 4. During the sessions, all participants engaged actively to ensure that the developed guidelines would meet the highest standards of quality across the University Consortium members.
The workshop concluded with a summary of key outcomes and next steps, highlighting the commitment of all parties involved. The finalized guidelines are expected to be completed by November 2024. Subsequently, a second workshop will be organized to address the second deliverable, which is scheduled for the end of the year.
