The Accelerated Bachelor Masters Degree (ABMD) programme is the latest models offered by Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) under the UPM International Collaborative Programme (UPM-ICP). Qualified final year Bachelor degree students from university abroad are eligible to apply. It provides an opportunity to the students to complete an undergraduate and postgraduate degree in 5 years. The students will be given a specific study plan prepared by their academic advisor assigned by the faculty in UPM. During the first year of study in UPM, they will register coursework and research project (equivalent to final year project) which is required to complete their Bachelor degree. In the second year of study in UPM, they will continue the same research project (an extended version) as their research project for Masters.
1) Students who are interested to join the programme are advised to check their eligibility and to get all the important information from the Admission and Institutional Relations Unit of School of Graduate Studies (SGS), UPM. 2) For admission, the candidate must meet the minimum requirements as stated below:
a) Only final year Bachelor degree students from universities abroad are allowed to apply;
b) The student’s current study status must be in good standing with minimum CGPA of 3.00;
c) The candidates must meet the minimum English requirement set by the University by obtaining an IELTS score of at least 6.0 or equivalent;
d) The application is supported by the Home University.
3) To apply the programme, the students must download an application form from the SGS website and then complete the form manually. The form that has been completed and all supporting documents must be submitted by email to Admission and Institutional Relations Unit at firstname.lastname@example.org. List of the required supporting documents are as stated below:
a) Research proposal.
b) A copy of Bachelor degree semesters’ results (transcript of all semesters).
c) A copy of passport.
d) Consent letter from the Home University.
e) A copy of IELTS/TOEFL certificate.
4) Application deadline is 15 June (for September intake) and 15 December (for February intake). Any application submitted after the deadline will be considered for the next intake.
