ANIMAL BEHAVIOR AND WELFARE

Through the field of Animal Behaviour and Welfare provides students with an understanding of animal welfare that can be applied effectively in animal research, management, care, production, inspection and assessment. The overall aim is to develop a scientific understanding of animal welfare and behaviour, to integrate behavioural science with other disciplines and to apply understanding of behaviour to improve welfare standards. Research in this field concentrates on optimising animal health and welfare by interdisciplinary approaches, behavioural implications, and strategic production and research to support the sustainability of the agricultural community and to protect human health.
