The field of Animal Production emphasises sustainable production practices in order to improve the effectiveness of animal production. It encompasses the management of ruminant and non-ruminant livestocks, the production of clean, safe, nutritious and quality food for consumers, and approaches toward environmental conservation in animal husbandry. An important component in the field of animal production is production system analysis which includes resource evaluation and farm economics. Research in the field of animal production integrates knowledge of production and animal health that involves entrepreneurship, infrastructure, management, farm mechanisation, as well as management of animal products and wastes.
