The programme aims to explore and develop research pertaining to the development of sustainable bioresource management such as forest plantation for wood-based industry and commercialization of plants. This interdisciplinary program mainly focuses on research related to bioresources potential through screening, identification and characterization of fast-growing tree species and other related plantation species while understanding the connections between society, economics and biological systems. This includes the integration of knowledge and skills on topics such as flora-fauna-environment interaction, species-site suitability, tissue culture, ecosystem modelling and land-use planning and also the social and economic dimensions within the context of plantation management.
