EPIDEMIOLOGY AND BIOSTATISTICS

Epidemiology and Biostatistics is a field of public health. It is a discipline that concerns itself with the study and research on disease occurrence, distribution, causation, transmission, prevention and control, as well as monitoring and surveillance. Statistical analysis of epidemiological data is able to explain disease occurrence and its relationship with other factors. The field is aimed at improving knowledge and skills in disease prevention and control, monitoring, surveillance and management of the disease.
