This field calls attention to aspects of Malay language and linguistics,with a major focus on applied linguistics. Also focused on are subfields of the area such as language planning and development, sociolinguistics,psycholinguistics, semantics, cognition, contrastive and error analysis, and current issues in Malay language and linguistics. Research approaches in these subfields are also examined.
