The Master of Malay Literature program is designed to equip candidates with advanced knowledge and critical understanding of Malay literary traditions, encompassing both classical and contemporary works. The program explores various literary genres, theoretical frameworks, and interpretative approaches to enhance students’ ability to analyse and appreciate literary texts in depth. In addition, the program strengthens candidates’ research capabilities through systematic exposure to scholarly methods and academic writing, enabling them to produce rigorous and meaningful research in the field of Malay literature. Emphasis is also placed on the cultural, historical, and intellectual contexts that shape literary production and interpretation.
