This field of study prepares the nursing student to design and conduct scientific research which strengthened their theoretical foundation of nursing practice and healthcare delivery and practice.The central focus of nursing research is to improve the health of populations, clients, and their families. The four core nursing research themes at UPM Nursing Unit represent research strength and experience of academic staff. These include critical care nursing, community health nursing, paediatric nursing, and medical surgical nursing. Overall, improving nursing knowledge and skills based on evidence, forms the basis of nursing research.
