ONLINE REGISTRATION GUIDELINES FOR NEW INTERNATIONAL POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS (OUTSIDE MALAYSIA)

SECOND SEMESTER 2020/2021

 

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ADMISSION TO UNIVERSITI PUTRA MALAYSIA!

 

In the next few weeks, registration for the new students will open. We are excited that you will be part of UPM’s community. Your smooth registration process is very important to us. Therefore, please read carefully about the following important information:

 

ONLINE REGISTRATION

  1. UPM will be conducting online registration of the new postgraduate students for the Second Semester 2020/2021 starting 8 March 2021. The summary of online registration as follows:

     

  2. Thus, all candidates need to reply to the offer at the applicant portal (http://sgsportal.upm.edu.my:8080/sgsportal/) before register online through PutraENROLL

    a.  Accept the offer if you decide to enroll and join an online class for this semester.
    b.  Candidate may defer to next semester if have difficulties to join an online class. However, please take note that our offer is valid for 2 semesters only.

  3. PutraENROLL can only be accessed by candidates who received the Second Semester 2020/2021 offer or those who offered last semester but deferred to Second Semester 2020/2021. Candidates are required to complete 9 sections and upload all required documents into the system.

    For students who are offered provisionally due to English Language requirement, please check your current English Language score and register for the following programme if necessary:

  5. All copies of the above documents must be certified true by a professional body.
  6. All candidates must pass a health examination before being registered. Please click here for more information about the Health Examination Requirements.
  7. Candidates will be notified to pay the tuition fee after all sections are endorsed by UPM. You may check the amount of tuition fee here for preparation.
  8. Candidates will be registered once payment of the first-semester tuition fee is made and endorsed by the Bursar Office.
  9. Candidates need to pay attention to all notifications pertaining to online registration at the portal. Failure to adhere to the notifications will affect the registration process.

 

LATE REGISTRATION

 

  1. New Students can register late until:

    Programme by coursework: 1 April 2021 (11.59 pm)
    Program by research: 17 June 2021 (11.59 pm)

     

  2. Please take note that: 

    a) Course registration can be made as soon as registration is complete, and the matric number has been received.
    b) Teaching and learning activities will begin on 22 March 2021 online.
    c) Therefore, new students are advised to register early before the semester starts or no later than 1 April 2021 to register and join classes online.
    d) There is no registration of new students for programme by coursework after the date mentioned above.
    e) Research students can register until 17 June 2021. However, there are no online classes that can be registered at that time except for research (Master Research [6 credits]/Doctoral Research [6 credits]).

 

 

VERIFICATION OF REGISTRATION

  1. Verification of registration must be made before the end of the semester or at any time after the Movement Control Order is lifted or the Malaysian Government allows you to enter Malaysia. New students can come to Counter 2, School of Graduate Studies on weekdays, and during office hours.
     
  2. Below are the documents that need to be brought for verification of registration:

    a)  Original Passport
    b)  Original of Certificate/ Senate Letter/Any evidence of completion of Bachelor or/and master’s degree
    c)  Original of Transcript of bachelor or/and master’s degree
    d)  IELTS/TOEFL/PTE/CIEP [if related]

        e) Registration Checklist for New Students [Verification Purposes] – is an auto-generated form after register.
