Toxicology

Toxicology is the scientific study of the harmful effects that chemical, physical, or biological agents can have on living organisms and the environment. It also involves the prevention and mitigation of these adverse effects. As a multidisciplinary field, toxicology integrates principles from chemistry, biology, pharmacology, and medicine to understand how various substances can harm biological systems.

The field of toxicology is broad, encompassing various specialized areas, including but not limited to environmental toxicology, occupational toxicology, regulatory toxicology, molecular and cellular toxicology, organ toxicology, toxicogenomics, food toxicology, ecotoxicology, reproductive toxicology, medical and forensic toxicology, and risk assessment.

A postgraduate degree in toxicology equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to make significant contributions to public health, environmental protection, and safety. As the demand for toxicology experts continues to grow, graduates are well-prepared to play crucial roles in safeguarding human health and the environment from toxic substances.
