PUTRA-iREAD System

 Introduction 

The PUTRA-iREAD system is an Online Book Management and Borrowing system. Is an innovation from the Read@Uni program for the SPS Reading Corner

• PUTRA – Representing users consisting of UPM citizens (SPS is used as a Pioneer User)
• The abbreviation iREAD stands for:
  - iREAD: Internet Resources for Education and Discovery
  - iREAD: i=I & READ=Read

The position of the SPS reading corner is strategic in the main room near the counter to make it easier for staff and customers to access the SPS Reading Corner.

Initially named SGS e-Library and its use was launched on 13 Sept 2022 which is the day of the opening of the Read@SGS Reading Corner and was specially developed for SPS citizens On 28 Sept 2022 it was agreed to be rebranded with the name PUTRA-iREAD as a long-term plan to expand use to all UPM staffs.

 Main Objective: 

• The main objective is to ensure the sustainability of the Read@Uni program organized by the Sultan Abdul Samad Library.
• Continuation of the objectives of the Read@Uni program, especially for SPS citizens, and UPM citizens as a whole.
• Help book management and monitoring of borrowing at SGS.
• Facilitating book loan management, book return, loan renewal, period control and re-tracking of borrowed books.
• Simplify record management and book access.
• Data management will be faster, more accurate and more systematic.
• Automation and data storage will provide convenience in terms of operational management.
