| ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS |
|
International candidates who receive a provisional offer letter due to not meeting the English language proficiency requirement must submit their English Language Proficiency Test results during the registration process via the PutraENROLL system.
Candidates who fail to submit the required test results before the PutraENROLL registration deadline are required to enrol in UPM's Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP) as part of the registration process. Candidates who enrol in the CIEP must complete at least one (1) semester of the programme before commencing their academic studies. A separate tuition fee for the CIEP is mandatory and must be paid during registration. Upon payment, candidates are required to upload the payment receipt in PDF format to the PutraENROLL system.

| VISA REQUIREMENT FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS |
|
The offer of admission does not come with a student pass. As an international student at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), you must apply the appropriate visa and a Student Pass (endorsed in your passport) to study legally in Malaysia.
This guide may only explain the general process — from applying for a Visa Approval Letter (VAL) to getting your Student Pass in your passport, however the School of Graduate Studies is not responsible to process the visa applications and has no direct coordination and communication with Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS). Further enquiries regarding this matter should be directed to Putra International Centre, UPM (i-PUTRA) and their contact details are in the table below:

- Candidates who are currently in Malaysia and holding a student, employment, dependent, or another pass from another institution, organization, or company should ensure that the existing pass period is shortened by the previous institution, organization, or company.
