2024 University Consortium Summer School in National Taiwan University

August 18th, 2024, Taipei – The 2024 UC Summer School was hosted on the main campus of the National Taiwan University on the 5^th-18^th August 2024, with the theme ‘Current Agriculture in Taiwan with A Glance of Precision Agriculture - Applications of Imagery and Modelling’.

This UC-funded program featured participation by a total of 20 postgraduate students from 12 UC member universities with agricultural-related academic backgrounds who are interested in learning computing and programming (e.g., crop model simulation, UAV imaging).

Participants were introduced to diverse topics such as crop production, soil biodiversity, and horticulture through lectures, followed by hands-on workshops, and then put into practice through group project tasks. Aside from that, they also took part in field trips to popular attractions such as the Old Taipei City, Gold Museum, and National Palace Museum.

On the final day, all groups were invited to present their findings and conferred their certificates during the closing event at the College of Bioresources and Agriculture (NTU). The day ended with a farewell dinner banquet at the Sheraton Grande Taipei Hotel.
