June 7, 2024, Friday - The Appointment Ceremony for members of the Postgraduate Student Ambassador (PGSA) was successfully held on June 7, 2024, Friday at Balai Minda, Kolej Sultan Alaeddin Suleiman Shah (KOSASS), Universiti Putra Malaysia. Several postgraduate students were evaluated and selected to become PGSA members representing their respective faculties and institutes.

Student Ambassadors are a vital element enriching students' experiences throughout their studies at an institution. Membership includes both local and international students from undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In Malaysia, these groups are often known as student buddies, ambassadors, or liaisons managed by a specific department within the university or college.

The membership tenure is for two (2) semesters and will be renewed through nominations by the faculty/school/institute. Membership will be terminated if the student's status changes to Terminated, Defer, Withdraw, Thesis Submitted, or Completed.

The primary objectives of forming the Postgraduate Student Ambassador (PGSA) including to train the postgraduate students as proactive student ambassadors in planning or implementing university activities, enhancing the added value of UPM postgraduate students through involvement in character-building, community awareness, personality reinforcement, and industry networking co-curricular activities and to strengthening the relationship between UPM postgraduate students, alumni, and the industry to diversify student perspectives and networks.

The ceremony was attended by the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Zalilah Mohd Shariff, Deputy Dean of SPS, Prof. Dr. Rusmawati Mohd Said, and the Deans and Deputy Deans of each faculty and institute. The event lasted for two hours, starting at 2:30 PM and concluding at 4:30 PM.
