Serdang, January 12nd, 2026 — The School of Graduate Studies (SGS), Universiti Putra Malaysia, extends its heartfelt congratulations and appreciation to Cik Affahuraizah Abdul Rahman for the remarkable achievement of reaching the summit of Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world. This extraordinary accomplishment is not only a significant personal milestone but also a proud moment for SGS and the university on the international stage.
Climbing Mount Everest is an extreme challenge that demands exceptional physical endurance, mental resilience, discipline, and thorough preparation. Standing at 8,848 metres above sea level, the mountain presents climbers with intense training requirements, lengthy acclimatisation processes, unpredictable weather conditions, and treacherous terrain. Cik Affahuraizah success demonstrates that with determination, perseverance, and unwavering commitment, even the most formidable goals can be achieved.

According to the climber, the Everest expedition was a deeply meaningful journey that tested physical strength, emotional endurance, and spiritual resilience. Every step towards the summit required patience, focus, and strong self-belief. The continuous support from family members, colleagues, and the university’s management also played a crucial role in providing motivation throughout the expedition.
The SGS community views this achievement as a symbol of courage, dedication, and extraordinary spirit—qualities that align with the culture of excellence upheld within the organisation. The determination to step beyond one’s comfort zone and embrace significant challenges reflects the same perseverance demonstrated in academic and professional pursuits.
