10 June 2026, Wednesday – The School of Graduate Studies (SGS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) successfully organized a knowledge-sharing session titled Digital Mindset and AI Adaptation in the Workplace at Meeting Room 1, SGS. The session aimed to enhance staff awareness and capability in adopting artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in their daily work tasks.

The session was delivered by invited speaker, Dr. Chong Chou Min, Senior Lecturer from the Faculty of Agriculture, UPM, who is well-versed in digital technology and innovation. The programme received encouraging participation from SGS staff, who were also encouraged to bring their own laptops to engage in the hands-on activities conducted during the session.

Throughout the session, various insightful topics were highlighted, including the risks and potential dangers of misusing AI, particularly when applied without proper ethical considerations or control. The speaker also shared practical tips and tricks on how to effectively utilize AI tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini to simplify work processes, improve productivity, and save time.

Participants were actively engaged in the interactive session, where they had the opportunity to explore and apply AI tools in real-time. This hands-on approach helped deepen their understanding of the practical applications of AI in the workplace.

This initiative reflects SGS’s commitment to fostering a strong digital mindset among its staff in line with current technological advancements. It is hoped that such programmes will equip staff with the necessary skills to remain competent, adaptable, and competitive in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape.
