Serdang, November 17th, 2025 — The collection counter for academic attire for Universiti Putra Malaysia’s (UPM) 49th Convocation officially opened on Saturday, November 15, 2025, providing graduates with the opportunity to obtain their gowns ahead of the upcoming ceremony. Staff from the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) are scheduled to manage the counter to ensure the collection process runs smoothly, efficiently, and in an orderly manner. As of today, nearly 910 graduates have collected their academic attire.

During the collection process, graduates are reminded to ensure that their attire meets the required specifications. For Master’s students, gowns should have two stripes on both the right and left sleeves, complete with a mortarboard and a peach-coloured hood. Master of Medicine graduates should ensure two golden stripes on each sleeve, along with a bonnet and peach-colored hood. Meanwhile, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) graduates must have three golden stripes on both sleeves, complete with a bonnet and peach-colored hood.

The collection process not only ensures that graduates receive their academic attire on time, but also provides SGS staff the opportunity to check the completeness of each set to avoid any confusion during the convocation ceremony. Graduates are also reminded to arrive early on the day of the ceremony and to dress formally, neatly, and appropriately to respect the official nature of the event.

The organisation of the academic attire collection counter reflects the School of Graduate Studies’ commitment to ensuring a smooth, safe, and well-prepared convocation experience. All parties hope that graduates will attend the ceremony fully prepared, confident, and eager to celebrate this historic milestone in their academic journey.
