SERDANG, 19 February 2019 - 763 new postgraduate students for Semester 2 2018/2019 undergone the Oath-taking ceremony held in the Main Hall, Pusat Kebudayaan Sultan Salahuddin Shah, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).
Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Saripan, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International) officiated the event. The new group comprised local and international students from more than 30 countries.
The objective of the event was to enhance the relationship and level of communication between the new students and UPM Principal Officers. Present, too, at the occasion were Deans and Directors representing the various faculties and other institutes in UPM. Other attendees included International Students’ Association (UPMISA) and Student Representative Council (MPP).
The session continued with the briefings and clarifications by the deputy dean of the School of Graduate Studies on matters covering the following perspectives: Academic, Thesis, Student Affairs, Learning Support, Financial Assistance and Mobility followed by the presentation of Director of Putra International Centre exposing the details concerning Administration of student passes and Mobility.
Towards the close, the audience were also introduced to the International Student Association (UPMISA).
The International Students Association was formed to improve the international students' experience in the UPM and provide an opportunity to share experiences, network and integrate with fellow students.
The event started at 8.00 am and lasted until 1.00 pm.
