Putra Sarjana Seminar on Securing Grants Through an Effective Proposal

July 9th 2024, Serdang – The School of Graduate Studies (SGS), through the Putra Sarjana Learning Support Program, organized a seminar on Securing Grants Through an Effective Proposal conducted by Professor Dr. Rusmawati Said in person at the Putra Sarjana Room, SPS. The two-hour seminar was part of the Putra Sarjana SPS Seminar Series, which provides various information, tips, and skills to UPM postgraduate students. The positive response from students and participation from students outside the university reflected the significance of the topic.

The main objective of the seminar is to outline how to produce an effective proposal to secure a grants. The importance of structured soft skills was also highlighted by Professor Dr. Rusmawati Said throughout her presentation. The guest speaker has also shared her experience in gaining the grants from related institutions and the challenges she overcame in order to present her proposal to the stockholders.

Professor Dr. Rusmawati Said has shared her knowledge through a simple PowerPoint presentation with few proposal document as an examples, which captured the students’ attention more than usual. An active Q&A session took place proving the seminar was indeed an interactive and successful one. After a heated session of clarifications, the talk came to an end at 12.00 noon. Attendees even had a one-to-one personal discussion with the guest speaker to understand the session even better.
