February 5th, 2025 – The School of Graduate Studies (SGS), through the Putra Sarjana Learning Support Program, organized a seminar on Stop Procrastinating your Thesis Writing conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Radhiah Shukri, Deputy Dean (Academic and Student Affairs), Faculty of Food Science and Technology, UPM at Putra Sarjana Room, School of Graduate Studies UPM on 10.00 am. The two-hour seminar was part of the Putra Sarjana Seminar Series, which provides various information, tips, and skills to UPM postgraduate students. The positive response from students and participation from students outside the university reflected the significance of the topic.


The speaker focus to provide graduate students with practical strategies and motivational tools to overcome the common challenge of procrastination during thesis writing. It will address the psychological, organizational, and time-management barriers that often hinder progress and offer actionable advice on how to stay focused and motivated throughout the research and writing process. Participants will learn techniques for managing their time effectively, setting achievable goals, dealing with writer's block, and maintaining consistent progress. The goal is to empower students to take control of their thesis work, reduce stress, and complete their writing on time.
An active Q&A session took place proving the seminar was indeed an interactive and successful one. After a heated session of clarifications, the seminar came to an end at 12.00 pm with a photo session with the speaker.
