Putra Sarjana Seminar on Zero Tolerance Towards Social Harrassment Policy

November 14th, 2024, Serdang – The School of Graduate Studies (SGS), through the Putra Sarjana Learning Support Program, organized a seminar on Zero Tolerance Towards Sexual Harrassment Policy conducted by Mr. Shamiel Fikri Ishak, Legal Officer from Office of The Legal Advisor, UPM via zoom meeting. The two-hour webinar was part of the Putra Sarjana Seminar Series, which provides various information, tips, and skills to UPM postgraduate students. The positive response from students and participation from students outside the university reflected the significance of the topic.

The speaker highlight the main objective of the seminar is to raise awareness and educate participants on the importance of creating a safe, respectful environment free from harassment. A detailed explanation of the institution’s Zero Tolerance Policy, which outlines strict measures and consequences for any acts of sexual harassment, ensuring that all individuals feel secure and respected in the workplace or educational setting. The speaker also explain briefly on how to report incidents of sexual harassment, available support systems, and the process of investigation to ensure a fair and transparent resolution.

The seminar concluded with a Q&A session, where participants raised questions about the policy’s application. After a heated session of clarifications, the seminar came to an end at 12 noon with a photo session with the speaker.
