Sekalung Budi & Symphony of Excellence Ceremony 2025 by the School of Graduate Studies

Serdang, December 19th, 2025 — The School of Graduate Studies (SGS), Universiti Putra Malaysia, continues to prioritise staff motivation and well-being as key drivers in enhancing the overall quality of services across its Responsibility Centres. In line with this commitment, the Sekalung Budi & Symphony of Excellence Ceremony 2025 was organised as an annual appreciation event to recognise the continuous dedication and contributions of SGS staff across various areas of service and achievement.

Held under the theme Around The World, the ceremony took place at Taman Ekuestrian Putrajaya and was organised by the SGS Club Committee in collaboration with the Dean’s General Office. Meticulous preparations were carried out over a two-week period, encompassing thematic decorations, voting processes, and the selection of award recipients through a transparent audit-based evaluation method. The event also marked a symbolic leadership transition, as the SGS Club Committee for the 2023/2025 term formally concluded its service, followed by the announcement of newly appointed committee members elected through a staff-wide voting process. The ceremony commenced with a welcoming address by the Chairperson of the 2023/2025 SGS Club Committee, Ms. Nur Nadjla Ahmad Razei, and was followed by a dinner session and engaging activities that enlivened the atmosphere while strengthening collegial bonds among staff members.

In addition, the ceremony served as a platform to honour staff members who had recently been transferred, namely Ms. Farah Hanani Roslan, now serving at the Admissions and Academic Governance Division of UPM, and Mr. Muhammad Amirul Afif Sa’audi, who has been appointed to the Institute for Mathematical Research, UPM. Their recognition reflected SGS’s appreciation for their dedication and valuable contributions during their tenure. Several awards were also presented, including the SGS Virtual Fitness Challenge Award and The Great Outdoor Glow-Up Competition Award organised by EKSA SGS. The presentation of these awards symbolised recognition of excellence, creativity, and teamwork among SGS staff.

Overall, the ceremony reinforced unity, appreciation, and a positive organisational culture, reflecting SGS’s ongoing commitment to fostering professionalism, collaboration, and service excellence within the university community.
