SGS Staff Participation in Putra Sihat Series 1.0 – 10,000 Steps UPM

February 10th, 2026 – Staff members of the School of Graduate Studies (SGS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) participated in the Putra Sihat Series 1.0 – 10,000 Steps UPM programme held on 10 February 2026 (Tuesday). The programme brought together UPM staff in a walking activity aimed at promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among the university community. Participants gathered at the UPM Parade Ground before embarking on the walking activity. The participation of SGS staff reflected the School’s commitment to supporting UPM initiatives that emphasise the health, fitness and overall well-being of university staff.

The 10,000-step walking activity is a simple yet meaningful physical activity that can be incorporated into daily routines. Besides improving physical fitness, the activity provided an opportunity for SGS staff to spend time together in a relaxed and enjoyable environment away from their usual workplace routines. Programmes such as this also serve as an effective platform to strengthen relationships and foster a sense of camaraderie among staff. Participating in activities together can promote teamwork, mutual support and a positive working environment within the SGS community.

In addition to the physical benefits, walking also provides an opportunity for staff to refresh their minds and take a break from their daily work responsibilities. Maintaining an active and balanced lifestyle can contribute to overall well-being and help staff remain motivated and productive in carrying out their respective duties. The participation of SGS staff in the Putra Sihat Series 1.0 – 10,000 Steps UPM reflects the School’s continuous efforts to encourage healthy lifestyle practices and promote staff well-being. It is hoped that programmes of this nature will continue to be organised and receive greater participation in the future, in line with UPM’s aspiration to foster a healthy, active, productive and well-balanced university community.

Congratulations and well done to all SGS staff who participated in the programme! 👏🏻🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️
