Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) through its School of Graduate Studies (SGS) has conducted a virtual seminar entitled The Thesis and The Viva on Friday, 7 August 2020 via Cisco Webex.

Many students are unsure what their examiners actually look for when they submit their thesis and undergo their viva. In addition, many feel the viva to be the part of the postgraduate experience that causes the most stress and anxiety. In this seminar, students learned exactly what the examiners expect from students, their thesis, and their viva, which will enable them to be confident in facing their examination committee.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Christopher Teh Boon Sung from the Department of Land Management, Faculty of Agriculture, Universiti Putra Malaysia was invited as the speaker and more than 300 postgraduate students have participated in the 90 minutes seminar. A Q & A session was conducted to give an opportunity for the participants to ask related questions to the speaker for further understanding of the topic.

The seminar started at 10.00 am and ended at 11.30 am.
