On April 11th 2017, Auditorium Jurutera, Faculty of Engineering, UPM became the venue for the final round of the 3MT competition. The event, organised by UPM’s School of Graduate Studies, involved 12 participants. Judges for the contest, headed by Dr. Abhimanyu Veerakumarasivam (Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences), also comprised of Prof. Dr. Kamariah Abu Bakar (Professor, Faculty of Educational Studies), Mr. Ahmad Fedtri Yahya (Senior Producer/Presenter, TV3), Mr. Gregory L. Foster (Managing Director, Fibaloy International Sdn. Bhd.) and Dr. Azlan Shah Hussain (Senior Researcher, Petronas)

The singular honoured guest was the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International who also officiated the event. The competition was also attended by Deans of Faculties and Directors of Institutes.

First prize winner was Keeren S. Rajoo from the Faculty of Science and he received RM1000.00. Jeyanthi Suppiah from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and Foo Chuan Yi from the Faculty of Science walked away with the 2nd and 3rd prize awards of RM800.00 and RM600.00, in that order.

For the rest of the participants, each received a consolation prize of RM100. The event started at 2.00 pm and lasted until 6.00 pm.
