UPM and NTU Forge Stronger Partnership through Dual PhD Programme

SERDANG, 6 July 2026 – Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and National Taiwan University (NTU) have strengthened their international academic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for a Dual PhD Programme at UPM. Initiated and coordinated by the School of Graduate Studies (SGS), the programme builds on the long-standing collaboration between the two universities under the Southeast Asian University Consortium for Graduate Education in Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC).

The MoA marks a significant milestone in advancing postgraduate education and research collaboration between UPM and NTU. Through the Dual PhD Programme, doctoral candidates will benefit from joint supervision, access to the academic expertise and research facilities of both institutions, and enhanced international research exposure. The collaboration is also expected to strengthen academic mobility, foster high-impact research, and produce globally competitive researchers equipped to address regional and global challenges.
