Serdang, December 9th, 2025 — The Universiti Putra Malaysia Digital Month 2025 is a strategic initiative aligned with the university’s digital transformation agenda in Malaysia’s higher education landscape. In an era of rapid digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) advancements, UPM has proactively ensured that its campus community remains at the forefront of digital transformation, guided by the UPM Digital Transformation Framework, the Digital First Strategic Shift, and TRUE NORTH UPM.
As one of the highlight events, the Information and Communication Development Centre (iDEC) organised the innovation competition titled “Digital Culture Competition: Unleashing No-Code Creativity – Create Work Automation Solutions with Google Workspace”. The competition aimed to uncover the creativity of UPM staff and students in developing innovative workplace solutions without coding skills, integrating systems with Google Workspace for Education Plus (GWS) under the theme “Digital First, Innovation Always”, which emphasises digitalisation as the core of university operations.

Innotech SGS submitted their entry and successfully advanced to the final stage on 3 December 2025 at iDEC Alpha, Putra Infoport, UPM. During the closing day of Digital Month 2025, SGS was invited to present their developed system to the judging panel and attendees at the UPM Main Hall. Following the presentation, SGS was announced as the overall champion of the competition.
The MySPS Smart Office system is an extension of the main MySPS Management System used by SGS staff. While the original system relies entirely on JSP programming, MySPS Smart Office was developed using Google Workspace, which reduces the need for complex technical maintenance and allows non-programming staff to manage the system efficiently. Only non-critical modules were developed on this platform, enabling low-cost development, minimal maintenance, automatic integration, and enterprise-level security and scalability.
SGS’s success with MySPS Smart Office reflects UPM’s strong commitment to driving digital transformation, promoting no-code innovation, and embedding digitalisation at the heart of its operations in this era of advanced technology.
